IMPORTANT - MEASURE YOUR RECESS BEFORE YOU ORDER!

11 mm frames only fit recesses wider than 11 mm, Seconline will not replace screens ordered with the incorrect frame as they must be completely remade with all new stock.

Steps:

  1. Measure widths

  2. Measure height

Recess Fix: Fitting the flyscreen into the recess provided by the window extrusion. Seconline can accommodate two widths of flyscreen frames thicknesses; 11 mm (which is the most common) and 9 mm; either option can be selected during the measuring process.

Face Fixed: Fitting the flyscreen to the outer face of the timber or aluminium window sill; generally with 11mm PVC turnbuckles - available as an Add On when purchasing your screen.

Seconline also install plunger pins into our fly creens where requested. These can be purchased as an add on at Step 3 of the Product Builder when purchasing your screen and  are fitted to the screens at the time of manufacture.

Two Measure Options are available:

Option 1: Measure your existing flyscreen

Measure an existing flyscreen: If you have existing flyscreens and they are a good fit, then the easiest way to measure for new ones is to re-measure your old ones, ensure that you measure the width of the frame, if the width of the frame is less than 11 mm you should face fit the screen.

Note: Do not take measurements from the centre in case the screen is bowed.

Screen Width: Measure from the outer edge of the frame top and bottom, record the smallest measurement. Note: There should be maximum of 3 mm variation in the two lengths, if the variation is greater contact us to discuss solutions 1300 735 405.

Screen Height: Measure the height left and right, record the smallest measurement.

Frame Width: Using a solid ruler measure the width of your window frame, if this frame width is less than 11 mm you should face fit the screen.

Option 2: Measure for a new flyscreen

Note: Do not take measurements from the centre in case the screen is bowed. There should be maximum of 3 mm variation in the two lengths, if the variation is greater contact us to discuss solutions 1300 735 405.

1. How to measure for a new screen - Face fixed

Screen Width: Measure the recess top and bottom, record the smallest measurement.

Screen Height: Measure the height left and right, record the smallest measurement.

2. How to measure for a new screen - Recess Fixed (1.1)

Note: Not always, however in most cases the height recess at the bottom will be smaller in depth than the top.

Width:

  • Measure from the lip of the shortest side, Point A, to the inside depth of Point B.

  • Deduct 2 mm and this will be your width measurement.

  • The 2 mm is to allow the screen clearance when fitting.

Height:

  • Measure from Point A; which is the top of the top recess to Point B which is to the lip of the the bottom recess.

  • Deduct 2 mm and this will be your height measurement.

  • The 2 mm is to allow the screen clearance when fitting.

Recess Width: Using a solid ruler measure the width of your recess, either 9mm or 11mm frame option can be selected during the measuring process.
